Avalanche Software was an American video game developer founded by four lead programmers of Sculptured Software in October 1995. The company developed games for every major console platform since the 16-bit era and grew to nearly 300 employees by the end of its life. The studio was headed by CEO John Blackburn and closed by Disney Interactive Studios in May 2016. But they were later on acquired by Warner Bros Interactive on January 2017.
