Dredd vs death

Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death is a first person shooter released in 2003 on the PC, PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. It is based on the popular comic book series, Judge Dredd, and it was developed by Rebellion Developments, who later created Rogue Warrior.

Why it Sucks

  1. Ugly visuals and character models.
  2. Poor controls.
  3. Bad physics.
  4. The voice acting is inconsistent, as it ranges from being okay to awful.
  5. Lousy and bland gunplay. Once you reach the game's halfway point the vast majority of enemies are melee-focused vampires and zombies.
  6. Little weapon variety.
  7. Ammo and health are painfully rare in the last few levels.
  8. The Judge Fire level is trial and error with very little of the stage's mechanics explained.
  9. A few levels have annoying escort missions.
  10. Levels don't always make it clear where you're supposed to go.
  11. Anti-climactic final boss.
  12. Judge Fear boss takes way too many hits to kill- fight goes on for ages.
  13. Weak A.I.
  14. Co-op does not give the players any tools to follow or locate one another. Often one player advances through the level while the other player bumbles around lost.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Faithfully recaptures the atmosphere and humor of the Judge Dredd comics.
  2. While the enemies are repetitive, combat is engaging at its core.
  3. Largely solid level design requiring the player to methodically work through stages.

Reception

Darklordjadow1 enjoyed this game as a decent classic shooter, despite the various flaws explained above in this article.

The game has received generally mixed reviews on metacritic scoring 56/100.
