The RDI Halcyon was released in 1985 by RDI before it went bankrupt. It was one of the first consoles to use speech recognition and came with a computer and laserdisc player.
Why it Flopped
At the time, the console was priced at $2,500. By 2009's standards, that would be $4954. Only two games were released for the system before RDI went bankrupt.
Nobody actually knows if the system was even put into production, as there are only 10 known Halcyons ever made. They were given to RDI's investors.
